| Various districts, each one interacting as a small personalized village, may be discovered by scenic bus, car or just riding a bike or strolling around at your own pace. The town is rich in beautiful historical buildings, street markets, galleries, craftsmen shops, Antique dealers and exclusive shopping.

Some of these districts are:
| "Quartier Notre Dame": This ancient so called " new town" of Louis XIV, located in the heart of the historical town displays cobblestone streets, a famous food market, antique dealers and the ancient royal Parish church.
"Quartier Saint Louis": At the end of the 18th century, the "new town" was getting too small and extended itself to a second town which was built on the grounds formerly occupied by the Louis XIII "Park of stags". It was then named: Quartier Saint Louis. Its grounds, divided into plots designed as a draughtboard, are enhanced by a magnificent cathedral and picturesque squares.
| "Montreuil": This former neighboring village became part of the town in 1787.
It became and still is the town's orchard as it originally provided the court and the town with fresh produce. Numerous members of the court built their summerhouse in this district, such as the daughters of King Louis the XV.

Antique dealers:
The Versailles Antique dealers market district, created about 25 years ago, is better known as "Antiquaires de la Geole". It gathers over 50 antique dealers in the heart of the historical town center. It is divided in four separate areas, bordered by the old narrow cobblestone streets of the old town: "LE PASSAGE ", " LE BAILLIAGE", "LE CARRE"and "LE VILLAGE".

| There is something for everybody, from period furniture, antique and contemporary paintings, silverware, jewelry to ceramics and ancient books.
In " Le Carre" the antique shops are gathered around an ancient covered market square, originally used at its creation in 1677 as a wine merchants exchange hall.
